Process to troubleshoot the ACS Service Center Java Client
To help troubleshoot problems with the execution, the Java client will generate log messages which can be viewed by displaying the browsers Java console.
  • To view log messages in Internet Explorer, Java logging must be turned on 
  • Go to:  Tools->Internet Options->Advanced->MicrosoftVM
  • Select Java logging enabled and Java console enabled 
  • Restart your web browser 
  • You will then be able to access log entries from the Java Console option on the View menu 
  • Under Netscape Navigator 4.5, use the Java console option on the Communicator->Tools menu.  With earlier versions of Netscape Navigator, use the Java Console option under the Windows menu

NOTE: Netscape Communicator4.05 or earlier included a root CA certificate which expired at the end of 1999. You will experience an additional dialog box when connecting securely with our site. It is encouraged that users with these browsers update their browser to the latest release from Netscape.

Troubleshooting Procedure:

  • Enable the log for the Java console for your browser type following the instructions given above

  • Attempt to install the ACS Service Center Java Client from the following URL http://service.acsonline.com

  • (The Java  console will display the information being gathered while attempting to load the ACS Service Center Java client to your browser)

  • When an error is given during the download process you can go to the Java console and cut and paste all the information in the Java console into a Notepad (.txt) or Word (.doc) document and email it to the TSG-ICSE technician working your ticket
